SPOKANE COUNTY, Wash - Late Friday morning Fire District 4 firefighters responded to a house  fire at Newport & Oregon in north Spokane County. Authorities tell us the homeowner was not home at the time. Crews had to use water tender trucks because there were no fire hydrants in the area.

The dollar amount of damage done to the home is very high. It's still not clear what caused the fire. The smoke was visible for miles.
