DEVELOPING STORY: SWAT Standoff At Vancouver Home
VANCOUVER, Wash. (AP) - Negotiators are trying to talk a man out of a Vancouver, Wash., house after a shot was fired in an early-morning disturbance.
A Clark County sheriff's spokesman, Sgt. Fred Neiman, says nobody has been wounded or injured. He says officers who came to the house in the Minnehaha area about 4 a.m. Thursday were able to get other people in the house safely evacuated.
Neiman says SWAT team members surrounded the house, and they believe only the man remains inside.
A nearby elementary school has been locked down, a private day care operation in the neighborhood has been notified, and residents in the area advised to stay in their houses.
