'White Collar' Star Matt Bomer Comes Out As Gay

HUFFINGTONPOST.COM - Matt Bomer has gone public with his personal life.

The "White Collar" star spoke out about his partner and family this weekend at the Steve Chase Humanitarian Awards, where he was honored with the New Generation Arts and Activism Award for his work with HIV/AIDS.

"I'd really especially like to thank my beautiful family: Simon, Kit, Walker, Henry," he said referring to his publicist partner Simon Halls and their three children.

"Thank you for teaching me what unconditional love is. You will always be my proudest accomplishment," he continued in his speech at the event in Palm Springs, Calif.

LGBT blog TowleRoad referred to how the actor handled questions about his personal life in the past as living in a "glass closet," meaning most people in Hollywood were aware of his sexuality, although Bomer would never publicly address it.

The 34-year-old had previously skirted questions about his personal life, telling Details in 2010, "I don't care about that at all... I'm completely happy and fulfilled in my personal life."

The actor will next be seen on the big screen with Channing Tatum and Matthew McConaughey in the upcoming male stripper movie, "Magic Mike." "White Collar" airs Tuesdays at 10 PM on USA.
