Shock Open Camp and Shuffle Roster

Posted: Updated:

February 18, 2012 – Spokane, WA: The Spokane Shock announced that DL Marcus Adams, OL Chet Teofilo (pronounced TAY-oh-FEE-low) and OL Andrew Nierman have been added to the 2012 roster. In additional roster moves, Spokane placed DL Anthony Hoke and DL Frantz Joseph on refused to report.

Adams, 6-0 300, is an eight-year veteran of the CFL with the Saskatchewan Roughriders. In 84 games with the Roughriders, Adams registered 129 tackles, 12 sacks and three fumble recoveries.  During his time in Saskatchewan, the fan-favorite Adams (nicknamed "Chunky") appeared in eight playoff games and three Grey Cups (2007, 2009, and 2010).

Teofolio, 6-4 315, pronounced TAY-oh-FEE-LOW, has NFL experience with the Dallas Cowboys and, more recently, the New York Jets. As a member of the Cowboys, Teofilo appeared in three NFL preseason games in 2010. Prior to his professional career, Teofilo appeared in 16 games – including 8 starts – at the University of California – Berkley.

Nierman is an AFL-veteran spending last season with the New Orleans Voodoo. As a member of the Voodoo, Nierman started in five of the six games he appeared, including New Orleans' game against Spokane last year. Prior to his professional career, Nierman anchored the offensive line for Tulane University. As a Green Wave, Nierman started in all 35 games he appeared in and helped the offense produce pair of 1,000 yard rushers.

"Today's additions to our roster are moving us in the right direction," General Manager Ryan Rigmaiden explained. "We were able to add a NFL-vet, a CFL-vet and an AFL-vet who can all make big contributions to this team. Not only do these players have the size we are looking for, they have the athleticism, the toughness and the football intelligence that we look for from our team. "

Spokane will open the 2012 season at home hosting the Iowa Barnstormers. Earlier this week, the Shock announced that they will be offering $1 hotdogs, $1 sodas, and $1 popcorn for the game. Tickets are on sale now and can be purchased by contacting TicketsWest.
