KHQ.COM - Warm, wet and windy weather will be the story through Wednesday. Lets start with the wind, there is a *High Wind Watch* in effect for areas including the upper Columbia Basin, Spokane, CDA, Odessa, Wilbur and Cheney, bringing gust to 50 mph. A *High Wind Warning* is in effect for areas including the Lower Columbia Basin, Colfax, Oaksdale, Pullman & Tekoa, with gust expected to reach 60 mph.

BUT the highest winds will be across the Waterville Plateau, Wenatchee, Entiat, Chelan...with gust possibly reaching 75 mph!  Heavy rains over the cascades will produce localized flooding through portions of Chelan County, so we will be watching the Entiat River Basin and Stehekin River Basin through the night.

Heavy rain also over the Cascades will continue to heighten the potential for Avalanche control; an *Avalanche Warning*  remains in effect until further notice for the Washington Cascades...be prepared for occasional stop downs on the mountain passes for Avalanche control.

Tonight: Mostly cloudy skies, light showers and gusty winds to 35 mph.

Wednesday: Mostly cloudy and WINDY, gust expected to reach 50mph.

SPOKANE, Wash. - The State Department of Vocational Rehabilitation (DVR) is a life-changing resource for hundreds of disabled people in Spokane. Finding them jobs, counseling and places to live. A big part of the agency's mission is at a standstill after DVR cut ties with one of it's major contractors without warning. For twenty-seven years, Compass has been a one-stop shop for launching disabled and disadvantaged residents on a path to a better, independent life.
