SPOKANE, Wash. -
Whitworth senior Felix Friedt is a finalist for the Josten's Trophy, the award given to the most outstanding Division III player for both their play on the court and work in the classroom and community.
Friedt has already been selected First-Team All-Northwest Conference, and he is a First Team Capital One Academic All American as well.
He and his team are set to open the Division III tournament this Friday against McMurry in Texas. The Pirates made it to the Elite 8 last year and hope for another extended run this time around.
"To go four times in a row for me means a lot, especially for my senior year – to be part of it and have that experience," said Friedt.
Whitworth is currently ranked No. 7 in D-III basketball. Their game Friday at the University of Hardin-Baylor tips off at 3:30 (PT). If they beat McMurry they will play on Saturday at 4 p.m. (PT).
