Spokane Valley Police: Child Luring Attempt Near Opportunity Elementary

PRESS RELEASE FROM SPOKANE VALLEY POLICE: On Thursday, March 1st, Spokane Valley officers responded to a child luring call near the intersection of Pierce Road and Valleyway Ave. At approximately 9:50 a.m., a 5th grade Opportunity Elementary student was approached by a man in a vehicle that asked her if she wanted a ride to school.

The student walked to a different bus stop where there were other students waiting and informed the bus driver of what happened.

The suspect was described as a white male in his late twenties to early thirties, had brown hair and was wearing a black stocking cap with a white stripe on it. The suspect was driving an older red sedan that had tinted windows.

The student told officers the suspect asked her at least five times if he could give her a ride to school before she walked to the different bus stop.

The suspect then drove past her a final time and did not stop.  Anyone with information is asked to call Crime Check at 509-456-2233.
