Sunnyside Christian Misses Shot at Overtime; Columbia Girls Advance

SPOKANE, Wash. -

After trailing all game long Sunnyside Christian was in perfect position to force overtime against Columbia Hunters. But Kara Den Hoed missed two free throws with 8.3 seconds remaining and handed Lions a 45-40 win.

With the win, Columbia advances to play Colton in the 1B title game on Saturday.

Columbia's Lindsay Loe led all scorers with 18 points. Krista Colvin scored 11.

Den Hoed led the Knights with 14 points.

The championship game between Columbia and Colton will be the last game on Saturday – a 9 p.m. start. The game can be seen live on SWX-TV throughout Eastern Washington.
