Queen Latifah Cancels Event Due To Family Emergency

KHQ.COM - The YWCA of Spokane announced Thursday that due to a family medical emergency, Queen Latifah has had to cancel her appearance in Spokane. All ticket holders will receive a full refund.

Anyone that purchased tickets online or over the phone will get an automatic refund with the original card used for the purchase. If tickets were purchased at an outlet or at the box office, the tickets will be refunded through the box office at 720 W. Mallon, Spokane.

The event was a fundraiser for the critical programs of the YWCA of Spokane, programs that support women in crisis and women working to become self-sufficient.  These programs are under financial strain right now and have faced increasing budget cuts in these turbulent economic times.

Ticket holders or others who would like to support these vital programs can make a donation directly to the YWCA by going to http://www.ywcaspokane.org  and clicking on the purple "donate" button on the home page. Donations made directly to the YWCA are tax deductible.

The YWCA would like to thank emcee Molly Allen of KZZU and the corporate sponsors who have provided critical support for this event: Northern Quest Resort & Casino and The Kalispel Tribe, Washington Trust Bank, Avista, Sterling Bank, Rockwood Health System, Spokesman Review, KREM 2, Tracy Jewelers, Desautel Hege Communications, Downtown Spokane Partnership, AND Hanna & Associates.
