MEAD, Wash. -

Erring on the side of caution, the Spokane County Sheriff's Department was called to Mt. Spokane High School Saturday morning to investigate a suspicious device.

The object, later identified as a water bottle wrapped in duct tape, was found by a baseball coach who called it in to the principal, who turned it over to the school resource officer. Not wanting to take any chances, the bomb squad was called in to investigate the device.

Taking the approach of "better safe than sorry," the robot was deployed to retrieve and detonate the bottle. After detonation, it was determined that the bottle was empty.

Police say they are not looking for anyone at this time, and believe the bottle, was simply a water bottle wrapped in duct tape.
