SPOKANE, Wash. -
In the NHL they grow their bears during the playoffs. In the WHL, the Chiefs are growing their hair – their mullets, to be exact.
And it must be working.
"The mullet – it's classic around here, I guess," said Mitch Holmberg, who has scored eight goals so far during this year's playoffs. The right wing has also scored the game-winner twice: once against Vancouver and another against Tri-City.
With a streak like that, it is no wonder they are reluctant to cut their hair.
"It might be the mullet, I don't know," said teammate Darren Kramer. "I've never been on a team where we cut our hair after the postseason started, but he did that and it's working for him. I'm going to get my hair cut tonight, actually!"
