CHENEY, Wash. -
As Eastern Washington continues their first full week of pads, the biggest thing coach Beau Baldwin wants to see is more. More intensity and more physicality.
The Eagles had their first spring scrimmage last weekend in Cheney. That was a start. And now, Baldwin says, it is time to kick things up a notch.
"I think more than anything I just want to see the physicality of it – take it to another level," said Baldwin. "I want to get into some more goal line situations, more third and short – more situations like that where we're forced to make tackles.
"I want to see our pad level continue to increase. That would be one of the things I'd say more than anything. If our pad level can increase throughout our whole team we're going to become a more physical team and we're going to be able to knock guys back on both sides."
The Eagles have two more scrimmages before the end of spring practice. The first is April 13 at 3 p.m.; the second is April 28 at 2 p.m. – televised LIVE on SWX-TV.
