SPOKANE, Wash. -
It appears, for now at least, that Jeremy Geathers has played his last game for the Spokane Shock this season.
The standout defensive lineman was placed on the Other League Exempt list by the AFL on Monday. Translated, that means he's going to camp with the BC Lions of the Canadian Football League.
Geathers was with the Shock when they won the 2010 ArenaBowl, and then played five games with the Chicago Rush in 2011 before returning to the Shock this season. The Lions originally added him to their practice roster in 2010, gave him another chance in 2011 and are now bringing him back again.
Geathers was named the Shock's Defensive Player of the Game in last week's win over Milwaukee. He had two sacks, including a safety.
The Spokane Shock are off for their second bye week of the season this week. Their next game is April 28 on the road against the Jacksonville Sharks.
