MOSCOW, Idaho -

If Idaho makes the same kind of progress is made between its first scrimmage of the season and its second go-round, coach Robb Akey is going to be a very happy man.

The Vandals are ready to end the spring football season with the annual Silver and Gold Scrimmage on Friday evening. SWX will carry the practice live on SWX-TV and SWXRightNow.com beginning at 6 p.m.

The scrimmage on Friday will not be exactly like a game. Instead, Akey said the team would begin shortly after 6 p.m. with special teams and two-minute drills.

Tight ends Justin Podrabsky and Jared Klingenberg will not suit up for Friday's scrimmage. They, along with running back James Baker, were injured last week.

And Akey has yet to name a starting quarterback for the team. Taylor Davis and Dominique Blackman have split snaps all spring long, He said that trend will likely continue on Friday.
