Thousands of people decided to celebrate Earth Day by running for a cause.

Sunday was the 7th annual Susan G. Komen Eastern Washington Race for the Cure, and it took place through the streets of downtown Spokane.

Right at 9:00am thousands of men, women, kids, adults, survivors and supporters embarked on the three mile trek.

Organizers had a goal of raising $500,000 dollars this year, and the best part about the fundraiser: 75% of the proceeds stay right here in Eastern Washington and the remainder goes to a national fund for breast cancer research.

Congratulations to all the runners walkers and supporters of today's events
