Shock No. 11 on AFL Power Rankings List

Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. -

The Arena Football League is trying something new this season. Call it a mix between the BCS and the NFL prognosticators' power polls. Eight weeks into the season the league is all about promoting its AFL Power Rankings.

Spokane, by the way, showed up at No. 11 on the list – the highest ranking for a team that is 2-3 on the season so far.

The AFL says the new power rankings are calculated using the vPower system – a scoring system based on winning percentage, strength of schedule, scoring average and win streak. The scale goes from 0 (the worst) to 100 (the best).

Spokane (2-3) has a 49.3 power ranking. The top team, Philadelphia (5-1), has a ranking of 100.

The Shock play Saturday on the road against the Jacksonville Sharks.
