Sounders Win Fourth Straight, 1-0 over Philly

by Brad Wall

SEATTLE, Wash. – The Seattle Sounders defeated Philadelphia Union 1-0 Saturday afternoon, giving the Sounders their fourth straight win and fifth straight game without a loss.

Mauro Rosales got the lone goal of the day at the 63-minute mark as Fredy Montero assisted him on the goal inside the far post. The goal was also Rosales' first of the season.

That goal was all the Sounders needed with the defensive containment and ball control they had. Seattle took 19 shots (six on goal) while Philadelphia only managed six (one on goal). The Union made five saves and the Sounders needed just one. Both teams were even in the foul department with 15 each.

The Sounders head to Frisco, Tx for a matchup with FC Dallas on May 9th at 5:30 p.m.
