In Today's GSL Baseball action, Gonzaga Prep and Mt. Spokane kept their seasons alive while Mead and University were sent home.
After beating Davis 11-6 earlier in the day, Ferris found themselves in a tight one against Gonzaga Prep. The Bullpups gave up a run in the first inning but got three back in the bottom. Ferris tacked on a run in the second and third knotting up the score up until the seventh. Gonzaga Prep escaped the game in the bottom of the seventh with a walk-off to win the game 4-3.
Having blanked Wenatchee 8-0 in the earlier matchup, Mead earned a chance to play Richland. The game went into extra innings as the Bombers tied up the game at two a piece in the bottom of the sixth. The Panthers scored a go-ahead run in the top of the ninth and went into the bottom of the ninth hoping to seal the win. Richland fired back by scoring the tying run and Hilty struck a three-run walk-off homer giving Richland the win 6-3.
In a game that was scoreless through five innings, Kennewick strung together a run in both the sixth and seventh to beat University 2-0. Kennewick's pitching was too much for University as they managed just four hits.
Mt. Spokane got their lone one run in the fourth inning and that was all they needed as the pitching dominated Kamiakin only allowing three hits in a 1-0 win.
