Connect With Kleck: Why So Many Wasps This Year?

Posted: Updated:
SPOKANE, Wash. - Wasps and bees are a little busier around the Inland Northwest this year.

Paul Nibarger is the owner of Prime Pest Control and he says that most of the bees and wasps we are seeing right now are queens, so if you can get rid of the queens, you can eliminate future hives.

"I have never seen a season so active as this spring it has been incredible just think about when all those bees get established and have little workers, its going to be quite a season," Nibarger said.

There is something that you can do around your house to stop those buzzing wasps.

"What we encourage people to do is to set out traps and try to catch as many queens as you can right now because everyone you catch is a less problem you have to deal with later," Nibarger said.
