PLUMMER, Idaho - The FBI along with the Coeur d'Alene Tribal police are conducting an investigation of a suspicious Death. EMT's were dispatched to a trailer home on A St.in Plummer just before 4:00 a.m. Friday morning. When responders arrived they found 39-year-old Thomas Schoolcraft unconscious. KHQ has confirmed with the Benewah County coroner that Schoolcraft was pronounced dead by Med Star around just after 4:00 a.m. Friday morning.
Benewah County Coroner Ron Hodge says he took Schoolcraft's body from the scene about 7:00 a.m. after FBI agents arrived on the scene. Hodge says witnesses told authorities they saw an altercation between Schoolcraft and another person. Hodge also says he performed an autopsy on the body to determine a cause of death.
Hodge also says Schoolcraft had no obvious signs of trauma on the surface.
At this time the Coeur d'Aene Tribal Police and FBI are only confirming that this is a Suspicious Death Investigation. It is not yet a murder investigation.
