RICHLAND, Wash. -- It is state tournament time for the Richland softball team. The Bombers are back in for the seventh time in the last nine years.
After two back to back ninth place finishes Richland looks to make it further this season. Each team needs to go 4-0 a state title. The Bombers play Inglemoor at noon on Saturday in Spokane. Richland says this could be the year it gets over the hump.
"You know you go up there and sometimes you have tough matchups and you just can't get things going. You know this year we can just keep on working doing what we're doing but the good thing is our team is really improving and we think our chances are really good to go far in
this tournament and possibly win it," said Casey Emery, Richland head coach.
"It's really bittersweet honestly because we've gotten so far and done so good over the past few years just being all together. We've all played together for the last four years, even more playing Summer ball. But we're all just happy to be here at this point right now," said Lexi McCracken, Richland right fielder.
