KENNEWICK, WA – In conjunction with Hockey Canada, Tri-City Americans' General Manager/Governor Bob Tory announced today that goaltender Eric Comrie will attend Hockey Canada's seventh annual Program of Excellence Goaltending Camp, to be held June 7-10 at the WinSport Canada Athletic & Ice Complex in Calgary, Alberta.

Comrie will join 15 other goaltenders, including four from the Western Hockey League, at the four-day long camp.  The camp will include both on-ice and off-ice sessions.  The instructors will provide both the participants and Hockey Canada with detailed reports at the conclusion of the camp.  Comrie was one of only two WHL goaltenders selected to take part in the Summer U-18 camp, joining Edmonton's Tristan Jarry.  Meanwhile, Central Division goaltenders Laurent Brossoit (Edmonton) and Mackenzie Skapski (Kootenay) will join Brandon's Corbin Boes at the U-20 camp.

Comrie had an impressive rookie season with Tri-City, appearing in 31 games while amassing a 19-6-1-1 record.  The 16-year-old netminder from Newport Beach, California finished his first WHL season with a 2.67 goals against average and a 0.900 save percentage.  Comrie also rewrote the Americans' record books when he posted consecutive 1-0 shutouts in late October, becoming the first 16-year-old goaltender in franchise history to record back-to-back shutouts.  Comrie also claimed CHL Goaltender of the Week honors for his efforts.  Comrie also got a taste of international competition this season, competing as a member of Team Pacific at the 2012 World U17 Hockey Challenge in Windsor, Ontario.  In three tournament games, Comrie compiled a 3.03 goals against average and a 0.889 save percentage while guiding Pacific to a 5th place finish.

All 16 goaltenders were selected by Hockey Canada based on evaluations done by Head Scout Kevin Prendergast during the 2011-12 season and in consultation with coaches, general managers and team officials throughout the Canadian Hockey League.
