First off…thanks to Barbara Repass who was the first to donate to Team KHQ! Thanks so much for your donation…that was so kind of you!
I am pleased to report that my workout yesterday was a SUCCESS! I felt really good in the pool, and finally am more comfortable with freestyle. It still really stinks while I am doing it, but it is nice to have someone to swim for. I love being able to help out the Special Olympics while I train! When the workout seems tough, or I am worried about being able to do it, I just think about the kids and that really helps out a lot.
Here's what I did yesterday. I did a 500M warm up, and then 4 sets of 300M free. Let me tell you, that was TOUGH! I tried to swim with my eyes closed to see if my stroke was straight, and I kept running in the wall. So, I have to keep working on straightening that sucker out. I only could do that for 2 of the 4, because someone else hopped in the lane and I did not want to hit her. I love having the line on the bottom of the pool, but it won't be there in Medical Lake! L During my last 600M, I got to do whatever I wanted, so I did a 200M IM set, 200M pull set and a 200M backstroke set. During the IM, I did a fly drill where I just did one arm at a time, because I am not in-shape enough to do a full-fly for 50 meters. I love pull though, I could pull all day long. I put a picture up of all of the equipment I use…take a look at the piece of paper with all the sets on it. That's one that back of one of my KHQ scripts! It was the only thing I had in my car and I thought it was appropriate. Thanks again! If you would like to help out Team KHQ and the Special Olympics…just go to this website.
