SPOKANE, Wash. - On Sunday authorities responded to E. South Riverton & N. Napa for the recovery of a body in the Spokane River.

Police say the man was reported missing by his girlfriend on Saturday night. On Sunday she went looking for him and found his clothes down by the river. About 30 feet away from his clothes, the woman found the man floating in the river and caught on some branches.

The identity of the man hasn't been released, but we are told he is in his 40's.

The body was found in the area of 1800 E. South Riverton, the same place that Sharlotte McGill was murdered back on May 3rd. Though police say they have no reason to believe the cases are related.

Police are not officially ruling the case as a suicide, but did tell KHQ Sunday afternoon that foul play is not suspected.

SPOKANE, Wash. - Crime is becoming a growing concern in parts of downtown Spokane-- and police are getting all to familiar with it. The worse it gets, the fewer people want to spend time there-- which only creates a vicious cycle. Tonight while while we were in the downtown neighborhood, we saw firsthand what businesses and police are worried about and say they see every day. "I think most areas are overall safe," Officer John O'Brien
