Photo from Facebook friend Lora Whittle Photo from Facebook friend Lora Whittle

Thursday: Starts with a shield of high clouds overhead & thins during the day…Mostly sunny during the afternoon...Temperatures escalate into the mid-80's locally, and into the 90's from the Columbia Basin to the banana belt of SE WA... High 85°

Overnight: It'll be a sultry evening with a rusty-hued sunset, then partly cloudy skies overnight

Friday: A weak disturbance may deliver a sprinkle during the morning, otherwise it'll be mostly cloudy & muggy… During the late afternoon & evening, thunder & lightning fire up over the mountains with some of that nasty weather passing through overnight…Low/High 56°/80°

FYI: Construction has begun on "Yellowstone," one of the fastest computers ever built and the largest dedicated to atmospheric science! Yellowstone will be capable of performing 1.5 quadrillion calculations per second. That's as many calculations as there are grains of sand on every beach in the world in less than one hour!

Some like it HOT! Dave

MUMBAI - A surgical team in India successfully removed a massive brain tumor from a man Thursday, weighing over 4 pounds. It was a lengthy, nearly seven-hour procedure and doctors believe it could be the heaviest ever recorded.  The tumor, which protruded from the top of the man's skull, was so large that it seemed “like a head on top of another head,” Trimurti Nadkarni, head of the neurosurgery department at Nair Hospital, told the Indian Express.
