Dog Severely Beat During Home Burglary; Fund Growing To Find Suspect
BILLINGS, Mont. (AP) - More than $7,000 has been donated toward a reward fund set up by a Billings family hoping to find out who severely beat their dog during a home burglary.
The 8-year-old border collie mix, Sadie, was put down after the June 8 burglary because of her injuries.
The Billings Gazette (bit.ly/PolwYY) reports that owners Randy and Kori Clark initially offered a $1,000 reward in the case. But donations began pouring in as news of the incident spread.
Some people have offered the couple puppies, and one person offered to pay for the adoption of any dog from the Yellowstone Valley Animal Shelter.
The Clarks say they are not yet ready to think about getting another dog.
