Rowley breaks AFL record, Shock tame 'Cats

SAN JOSE, Ca -

Saturday night Shock quarterback Kyle Rowley broke perhaps the most attention-grabbing record in all of the AFL. In a game where copious scoring and point totals in the high seventies are commonplace - six, seven, or even eight touchdown passes a game are routine for quarterbacks of this league.

But Saturday in San Jose, Kyle Rowley crushed the normalcy of high scoring by throwing twelve touchdown passes, and led the Shock to a 90-63 rout of the Sabercats.

The ex-Ivy Leaguer completed 30 of his 37 passes for 392 yards while leading the Shock to their eight win on the season - and drastically improved the Shock effort for a playoff spot. Their victory snapped San Jose's previously untarnished 9-0 record at home and bolstered Spokane's post-season campaign already on life support, as the 8-6 Shock climb the rankings in the National Conference.

The Shock host the 12-3 Rattlers on Friday, June 29th at 8 PM at the Spokane Arena.
