Indians Beat Hawks

BOISE, Idaho - Abel De Los Santos tossed five and two-thirds innings of shutout baseball, helping the Spokane Indians even the three-game series with the Boise Hawks, winning 4-1 before 2,917 fans at Memorial Stadium.

The left-hander struck out four to pick up his second win of the season and has not allowed an earned run in his past two starts. Chris Garia got the Indians on the board quickly, launching the third pitch of the game over the left field wall for a solo homer, as Spokane led 1-0.

Boise would have chances to tie in the second, third, and sixth - but Rock Shoulders was thrown out at the plate trying to score on a Trey Martin single in the second, and both Marco Hernandez and Stephen Bruno were stranded at third in the middle innings.

The Indians would get an insurance run in the seventh on a two-out RBI triple from Guy Edmonds and plate two runs in the eighth on a Ryan Rua RBI fielders choice and a Boise error.
