Former Zags Claim Elite Hoopfest Championship

SPOKANE, WA -- A record breaking weekend for Hoopfest 2012 as 7,092 teams took to the courts in Downtown Spokane.

Former Gonzaga Bulldog, Josh Heytvelt  tipped in the game-winner for "Douglass Properties" as they captured the men's elite six-foot and over division title, by beating "Red Monkey," 20-12.

The former Gonzaga standout was joined by David Pendergraft and Brian Michaelson (both former Zags), and Nik Raivio (younger brother of GU's Derek Raivio) who starred at Portland.

In the Men's Elite six-feet and under division, Jon Clift made his second free throw to give "Strokesville" its first Hoopfest Championship by beating Desert Horse Elite, 20-17.  Joining Clift in the winners circle was Marcus Clift, Eric Beal, and Dustin Beach.

In the Women's Elite Division it was "TBA" capturing the title for the 3rd striaght year. Former Washington Husky, Breanne Watson, Lindsey Wilson, Amy Lefotu, and Casey Bunn made up the winning team, which beat "3-And-A-Half".
