Sheriffs: 21-Year-Old Man Shoots Mother In Stomach
ST. HELENS, Ore. (AP) - The Columbia County Sheriff's office says a 21-year-old man shot his mother in the stomach with a handgun.
The Oregonian reports (http://bit.ly/MauzJo) 50-year-old Dana Terry is in a Portland hospital in critical condition after Sunday's shooting.
Her son, Robert W. Terry, was arrested after he holed up in a house for five hours. He was arrested for investigation of first-degree assault and other charges. He is being held at the Columbia County Jail on $118,000 bail.
The sheriff's office is determining what caused the shooting.

An Idaho man is in the hospital after being shot while elk hunting near Harrison, Idaho. On October 15, Kootenai County Sheriff’s deputies received a call from a 31-year-old man who said he’d accidentally shot his hunting partner, 20-year-old Nicholas Christensen of Potlach, Idaho. SPOKANE, Wash. - The Spokane County Sheriff's Office says they have arrested a 39-year-old man for sexually assaulting a 12-year-old girl. Last month, detectives received information from the Post Falls Police Department naming Jeffrey A. Christenot as a suspect in the sexual assault of a 12-year-old girl in 2015-2016.
