SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane firefighters responded to a structure fire in east Spokane near 3rd and Havana late Tuesday night.

The call came in just before 10:30PM and when the first crews arrived, they found a 2-story structure completely engulfed in flames. Crews knocked down the fire and are now investigating what caused it. They are calling the fire suspicious and crews will remain on scene throughout the night to investigate.

Fire officials say the house was not occupied at the time of the fire, in fact, authorities say the property was recently purchased by the Department of Transportation as part of the North/South Corridor Project.

As soon as we get any new information on this fire, we will update this story.
