Lisa Loevsky joined the NBC Right Now team in June 2010. She was born in the Ukraine, and Russian is her first language. Right before the Soviet Union fell apart, her family immigrated to America. She grew up in Cleveland, Ohio, and then studied at Miami University in Oxford, Ohio. Lisa graduated with a Bachelor of Science in Business Administration.
After graduating from college, Lisa moved to Miami, Florida and worked in medical sales. That's when she decided she loved news and tried to break into the industry. Her first TV job came at WSVN in 2007. As a writer there, she learned everything there is to know about telling a story the right way, and even interviewed Governor Charlie Crist.
This is Lisa's first on-air reporting job. Although she came in with different skills than the other reporters who studied journalism in college, she quickly picked up shooting and editing skills. She loves breaking news and crime stories, but also appreciates a good feature story.
In her spare time, Lisa likes to take advantage of all the outdoor activities in the Northwest and looks forward to ski season. She loves cooking, dining, wine tasting, reading, and working out.
