CHENEY, Wash. - Walking the sidewalks near Eastern Washington University in Cheney has become a little bumpier over the past several days.
Portions of concrete have started buckling, and street engineers say the hot weather is a likely cause for the damage.
Street crews were driving around town Friday afternoon identifying and marking the buckled portions of walkway. They say the sidewalks have become hazardous to pedestrians and plan to start fixing the sidewalk by the end of the month.
