The firearm, a semi automatic, .45 caliber Sig Sauer was recovered at the scene of the party.

PREVIOUS STORY

SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - The Spokane Valley Police Department and the Spokane County Sheriff's Department are investigating a shooting that happened early Sunday morning near the intersection of Mission and Progress just off of Sullivan.

The Sheriff's Department says it happened around 5:00AM when an argument at a large house party got out of control and someone pulled a gun. Before the suspect could fire the weapon at his intended target, other partygoers were able to wrestle it away from him. Two shots were fired, but no one was hit. The suspect fled the scene with another person in a vehicle, but deputies were able to locate them and take them into custody a short time later.

Detectives interviewed about 25 witnesses and said there was a language barrier, so it took a little bit longer than expected. They did say all the witnesses are cooperating at this time.
