Prosecution Rests In Child Abuse Case

SPOKANE, Wash. - Tyler Jamison has spent the last two years in the Spokane County Jail, since April 2010, when he was taken in for first degree assault of his baby daughter.

When this first happened doctors feared the baby was not going to make it, but she did.
The baby is brain dead, but still alive, and has been adopted by a foster family.

Detective Neal Gallier testified Tuesday in great detail about what Tyler Jamison said to them. At first he blamed all of the babies injuries on his mother. Later, he called police and said he was coming to the public safety building and that is when he told them what he did.

Jamison told detectives how he would pinch off baby Skyelynn's windpipe till she turned pale, how he squeezed her so hard that he may have broke some ribs.
According to the detective he said Jamison told him he didn't know what to do when the baby cried.

Tuesday, KHQ's Alex Rozier spoke with Tyler's mom, Michelle Jamison, and asked her if she had any comment. She said only one thing: "My son is innocent, yes he is. And so am I."

The mother of the baby, Kelsey Goble, in an unrelated story was booked on second degree Burglary charges Monday
