Rypien Foundation Helps Local Families

SPOKANE, Wash. - Carter Hadlock is just a normal five-year-old boy who likes to play with monster trucks, trains, and Mario Brothers.

Last January, Hadlock was diagnosed with Leukemia. His life was changed forever. However, he won't let his disease slow him down. Carter amazes his mother, Amanda every day.

"He just wants to get up and play. He just wants to be 5. If that happened to me, I can't say how I would be, but I am pretty sure I would be in a bed," Hadlock said.

Carter spends a lot of time at Sacred Heart Children's Hospital, where the Rypien Foundation helps make every trip a little more like home.

It donated a movie room, where the kids can watch different movies and play video games, donated many instruments for the kids to play on, and also donated IV backpacks so the kids don't have to stay in bed.

For Carter's mom Amanda, it's the Rypien Foundation and everyone else who helps them out that make all the difference.
