SPOKANE, Wash. -

Now that the season is over, it's time for owners, coaches and players in the Spokane Shock organization to start thinking about the future. Fans will be comforted to know, perhaps, that the team doesn't expect to make wholesale changes this offseason.

Team CEO and owner Brady Nelson told SWX he would like to retain about 75 percent of the roster from this season. He may be able to do that due to the change in the league's new collective bargaining agreement that allows teams to sign players to multi-year contracts.

Several players, including quarterback Kyle Rowley could return, and so could coach Andy Olson. The rookie head coach is expected to come back for a second season in Spokane.

"Spokane is special to me, so I'd always like to be in Spokane," said Rowley following the Shock's win over Tampa last week. "To tell you the truth, I have to sit down with [the team] and see what direction things are going and if I'm what they want. I love playing here."

Rowley said he hopes to be in Spokane for a long time.

Free agency in the AFL begins September 15.
