KENNEWICK, Wash. -- Friday the Lamb Weston Columbia Cup begins. Unlimited hydroplanes will race and Air National Guard planes will fly. But Thursday they golfed. Boat drivers, sponsors and friends hit the links. Canyon Lakes in Kennewick hosted the FLUOR golf tournament. SWX caught up with U-21 Miss HAPO driver Brian Perkins. He says this is a fun way to get the competitive juices flowing.
"We're all pretty friendly as far as competition goes. We always try to beat each other no matter what we're doing. I'm not the greatest golfer, but it's still fun. It's great to meet all the sponsors and come play with them in a more social environment than the race side when we're always busy. We love it," Perkins said.
