Kids Nutrition Takes Center Stage At Spokane Conference

SPOKANE, Wash. - While your child may not eat 6-thousand calories a day like an Olympian, what they do eat throughout the day can set the tone for the rest of their lives.

Today lawmakers are gathering in Spokane to look at nutrition in schools across the state.
The conference theme "You Are the Voice of Child Nutrition...Can You Hear Me Now?" emphasizes the need for healthy food preparation, training in regulation changes and showing off the newest menu items.

Spokane Mayor David Condon is scheduled to speak the first day of the conference.

The conference is taking place at the Doubletree Hotel - Spokane City Center from July 30 - August 1, with exhibits being held on Tuesday at the Group Health Exhibit Hall.
