SPOKANE VALLEY, Wash. - Pines Road in Spokane Valley near 8th is back open after an early morning crash involving a Spokane Valley police officer. It happened around 12:30 am Friday where Pines meets 8th in Spokane Valley.
Police say an officer was responding to a fight call at Pines Elementary School, he was driving south on Pines and hit a log that was sitting in the roadway. The officer lost control and ended up flipping his patrol car.
We're told the officer, a veteran of the force, was taken to a local hospital with minor injuries but has since been released.
Right now an investigation is underway as detectives work to determine if the log was placed in the roadway on purpose.
