OFFICIAL PRESS RELEASE: On Tuesday, August 7, 2012 just after midnight, Spokane
County Sheriff's Deputy C. Johnston responded to the 8500 block of East Red Oak
Drive for a residential burglary in progress. The homeowner called 911 and
reported there were two unknown male subjects inside his home.
Deputy Johnston, along with several Spokane Valley Sheriff's
Deputies and a City of Spokane K9 unit, responded to the residence. Once the
homeowner and his wife were safe the officer's searched the residence. However when the homeowner first saw them the two suspects fled the scene
prior to deputies arrival.
Sheriff's Deputies saw the front door to the residence had
been forced open. The homeowner told deputies he was awakened by a loud noise
which she thought was a window breaking. When she looked downstairs she saw two
males standing outside the foyer area next to a guest bedroom.
The homeowner
thought they were two white males wearing white tank tops and dark shorts. However it was dark so she was not certain. She said the suspects ran out the
front door when they saw her.
