COEUR D'ALENE, Idaho. - It was all smiles as a clear day in Idaho's back country made for one perfect day of aviation, but for pilot Leslie Gropp, son Tol, and two other passengers, a trip to the Frank Church River of No Return near Boise, truly could have been an adventure without returning home.

Multiple cameras inside the cockpit show a frightening decent towards the trees as the plane quickly loses altitude.

Nearly five minutes after the crash, while the camera is still rolling, one of the passengers picks up the camera and continues recording.

The video shows the four men looking on, dazed and in dis-belief at the mangled mess of the single engine plane wreck, waiting for help to arrive.

Gropp suffered serious injuries, broken ribs and a broken jaw but is making a full recovery.

The other three passengers suffered minor injuries.
