SPOKANE, Wash. -

SWX is set to air at least 25 high school football games this season, beginning with a game in North Idaho on August 30.

Post Falls will host Graham-Kapowsin from the west side of Washington on the last Thursday in August. The game will be seen throughout the SWX network – from North Idaho and Spokane, to the Tri-Cities and Yakima.

Two more games are on tap for August 31: West Linn (Ore.) vs. Coeur d'Alene, to be seen in the Spokane-North Idaho area; and Richland vs. Southridge, to be aired in the Tri-Cities/Yakima region. Both of those games begin at 7 p.m.

On Sept. 1, SWX is set to air all four games of the Emerald City Classic, the games that normally take place every year at CenturyLink Field in Seattle. The games were moved to the red turf at Roos Field in Cheney this year because of a conflicting Washington Huskies game. Tekoa-Oakesdale/Rosalia will play Reardan at 10 a.m. that day, followed by Colville vs. Freeman at 1 p.m. and East Valley (Yak.) vs. Cheney at 4 p.m. The day of football concludes with Ferris vs. Central Valley at 7 p.m.

The regular season on SWX begins Sept. 7 with University vs. Gonzaga Prep (aired in the Spokane-North Idaho region) and Selah vs. West Valley (Yak.) in the Tri-Cities/Yakima region.

By the time the season ends, all teams in the Greater Spokane League will be televised at least once.

New this year will be the manner in which games will be selected for broadcast in the Spokane-North Idaho region. Beginning in Week 6, SWX will choose the Game of the Week. The game shown on TV will be the one believed to be the best possible matchup.

The playoffs begin the week of Nov. 2, and SWX has tentative plans to air games in both the north and south regions. Playoff games are also a possibility on Nov. 9 and Nov. 16. Broadcast schedules will be updated as more information becomes available.
