PULLMAN, Wash. - The Washington State offense tallied eight touchdowns during its scrimmage at Martin Stadium in front of a couple hundred fans who stayed after to meet the team and get autographs.

Senior quarterback Jeff Tuel finished 14-of-19 for 183 yards and four touchdowns while redshirt sophomore Connor Halliday went 12-of-20 for 223 yards and three scores. Redshirt junior David Gilbertson also threw a touchdown pass.

A number of receivers recorded a catch with junior Marquess Wilson recording four receptions for 65 yards and two touchdowns while freshman Gabe Marks caught three balls highlighted by a 70-yard score from Halliday. Redshirt sophomores Bobby Ratliff and Rickey Galvin each recorded a scrimmage-high five receptions and a touchdown. Sophomore Isiah Myers had two touchdowns catches.

Halliday opened the day with a 30-yard strike to Myers for the first score after starting the drive from midfield. Tuel led the Cougars to their next two scores, finding Bobby Ratliff on the sideline from 18 yards out and connecting with Wilson for a 34-yard touchdown. The highlight of the game came when head coach Mike Leach moved the ball back to the offenses' own 30 and Halliday found Marks behind the defense and went in for a 70-yard score. Following Halliday's three-yard touchdown toss to Wilson and Gilberton's five-yard touchdown pass to redshirt freshman Max Hersey, Tuel closed the day by connecting with Galvin and Myers for five-yard- and 10 yard-scores, respectively.

The defense recovered from a rough first couple series to make a couple stops later in the day. The finished the scrimmage with four sacks and an interception from Anthony Carpenter who picked off a Tuel pass in traffic and returned it 36 yards for a score. Eric Oertel, Steven Hoffart, Cyrus Coen and Logan Mayes each recorded sacks.

The Cougars have Sunday off and will resume fall camp Monday at 2:45 on Rogers Field.
