SPOKANE, Wash. - Firefighters from District #4 and #9 were called to a technical rescue north of Chattaroy Monday night after two people fell down a cliff.
Fire officials say a man and a woman in their 30's were hiking behind the Riverside Village Mobile Home Park just before dark when they fell down a small cliff about 30 to 50 feet. The man was able to make it out with some assistance, however the woman could not make it out due to her location so a technical rescue team from Fire District #9 was called in to assist.
After a short time, firefighters were able to rescue the woman and she was taken to the hospital for treatment, but the extent of her injuries is unknown at this time. The man was also taken to a local hospital for treatment of minor injuries.
