SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Mayor  David Condon will hold a news briefing at 3:30 p.m. today at City Hall to announce his selection for Chief of Police.

The Mayor will choose either Indianapolis director of Public Safety Frank Straub or the commanding officer of the Ingleside police station within the San Francisco Police Department, Daniel Mahoney.

A panel of law enforcement professionals had requested a new search.  The Spokane City Council said they are ready for Condon to make a choice among the pool of candidates.

The search for Spokane's next police chief has been extensive including multiple searches with names from both the east and west coast.
