EVERETT, Wash. -- The Yakima Bears lost 5-2 Sunday afternoon against the Everett AquaSox at Everett Memorial Stadium. The Bears won only one of the five games in the series, with the team that took the initial lead losing each and every game of the series.
The Bears jumped out to an early 2-0 lead on a two-out, two-run home run by Yogey Perez-Ramos in the third inning. The AquaSox then went on to score the final five runs of the game, with one in the fourth, and a pair of runs in the both the sixth and eighth innings.
Alex Carreras failed to earn a decision for the first time in 14 starts with the Bears. The starter allowed one run on three hits and a walk in five innings. Blake Forslund gave up the go-ahead run in the sixth, as he was charged with two earned runs on two hits and a walk in his one inning of work. RJ Hively tossed a scoreless seventh and Will Locante gave up the other two runs in the eighth inning without allowing a hit, as he walked three batters to allow the earned runs.
The Bears were outhit 5-3 in the loss. Yogey Perez-Ramos had two of the hits, including his first professional home run. Jacob House connected on a single for the only other Bears' hit.
The Bears will start a five-game homestand on Tuesday, as the Vancouver Canadians come to Yakima County Stadium. Game time is scheduled for 7:05. The Bears are expected to start Blake Perry, while the starter for Vancouver has not been announced.
