Crews Respond To Brush Fire Near The State line

NEAR NEWMAN LAKE, Wash. - Fire crews with Washington Department of Natural Resources and Spokane County responded to a five acre brush fire at Trent Ave. and Idaho Rd. That is right near the Washington/Idaho state line.

It started on the north side of Trent just before 4:30pm Tuesday afternoon. The fire then jumped Trent and jumped a partial ditch.

About 30 firefighters total responded. It was quickly knocked down. Some crews stayed behind in order to monitor hot spots.

There is no cause right now, an investigation is ongoing.

    SPOKANE, Wash. - Spokane Police responded to an armed robbery on Spokane's south hill. It happened just before midnight when police say a man walked into the 7-11 at 30th & Regal, displayed what appeared to be a revolver and demanded money. The suspect fled the scene on a bicycle.
