YAKIMA, Wash. -- The new Columbia Basin Big Nine still has six schools. They will get to see each other twice over the course of the season. The Davis Pirates are back with a young team. They will start a whole bunch of sophomores and very few upper-classmen. This year Davis is focusing more on special teams. They have the athletes to take advantage of that area. Davis wants to do whatever it can to find ways to stay competitive.
"Our last two years, we've had good solid seasons. We want to continue that, continue to have a great body of work and be very competitive. I think they have a great attitude. I think they have great work habits. Great attitude. They've been focused for a bunch of young guys. They've been flying around. They've been getting better every day," head coach Rick Clark said.
