Local Man Comes Up With Magnet Hangers

SPOKANE, Wash. – Drue Mayhew is your typical handyman…but he has taken his skills to a whole new level. Mayhew's girlfriend is a photographer and has pictures all over their house. She was sick of having all of her pictures move around on the wall when she cleaned them and asked Mayhew to help her out.

So, he thought up a new way to hang her pictures. His idea is now patented and will be sold at Ace Hardware and Miller Hardware. But he tells us where the whole idea started. "Playing with magnets at the kitchen table.

That's exactly how it came about," Mayhew said. It's a hanger that is centered around magnets. You install half of the bracket on the wall with a magnet in it, screw the other half in the back of your picture frame with another magnet in it, and put the magnets together.

It can hang up to 45 pounds! Mayhew will be selling them for around $6.95.
